 Secure Server Certificates

If you are not using PayPal, chances are you will need a Secure Server Certificate. This provides your customers with a secure method of transmitting their credit card information when purchasing from you online.

As an alternative, some credit card gateways (Authorize Net as an example) provide a secured form on their servers. This however, is not a transparent transaction for your customers. In other words, they leave your site, go to the form at Authorize Net, and then return to your site.

If you'll be manually authorizing your credit card orders, want the entire check out process handled in a secure mode (lock icon appears in browser), or do not want to use your Gateway Processor's form, you'll need a Secure Server Certificate.
